Fertility Acupuncture at Community Spirit

Acupuncture is becoming increasingly poplular with couples trying to conceive

Acupuncture has a long and successful history in boosting fertility. It can be used to help couples to conceive naturally or improve the chances of IVF, IUI or ICSI success. As well as using acupuncture, we will often prescribe herbal medicine if necessary. Herbs work wonderfully along side acupuncture to improve fertility and chance of conception, especially in difficult cases.

Female Fertility and Acupuncture

Generally, the traditional Chinese medicine approach to female fertility starts by looking at a woman's menstrual cycle and if necessary attempting to regulate it. The range of symptoms that a woman experiences at different times of her cycle, in some cases combined with charting the basal body temperature, give us vital clues as to the state of a woman's fertility potential. The pattern of symptoms and temperature will be different for every woman, so the treatment that you will receive will be focused and targeted to your individual needs for that time of your cycle.

Of course, it takes two people to create new life, so it is important that fertility is viewed as a joint condition.Almost half of the infertility cases have a sperm defect as the main or contributing cause. Chinese medicine is able to treat both female and male infertility.

Dietary and life style advice are an integral part of our fertility treatment program. We might also suggest simple relaxation exercises and yoga-based postures which have effect on the reproductive system. In some cases our recommended treatment program includes Chinese herbal medicine. We can create a tailor-made herbal prescription to address your specific imbalances.

Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine may be able to improve male fertility in several ways:
