[our practitioners]

Community Spirit Acupuncture has been founded in 2010 by Gitasri and Andrew. Since then the clinic has undergone some changes and currently has two practicing acupuncturists, Gitasri and Sue.

We all are fully qualified, registered and insured Licensed Acupuncturist (Lic.Ac.). This means that we have undergone a thorough, three year training programme at a degree level, and maintain high standards of health, safety, and privacy at all times before, during and after your treatment.

All our practitioners have been trained in Chinese Medical Theory. This means that we consider the root cause of your condition and aim to treat you holistically, based on the principles of restoring harmony and balance. We recognise that every patient is different and following a thorough consultation and assessment, we develop a tailored treatment plan suited to your needs.

Susan Bailes

Susan qualified in Acupuncture at the University of Westminster where she obtained a BSc (Hons) in Traditional Chinese Medicine: Acupuncture. Soon after she took a career break to bring up her daughter.

In November 2013 Sue went on a study trip to China to the University of Shanghai where she practised acupuncture in a district hospital alongside Dr Huang. In-patients she treated at the hospital included stroke patients and chronic back pain. In the general walk-in clinic Sue treated mostly patients with musculoskeletal problems (e.g. neck and back pain and tennis elbow), gynaecological problems (menopausal and period problems) and Bells Palsy.

Andrew Nuttall
Andrew, one of the founders of the Community Spirit Acupuncture, is not working at this community project anymore. He currently practices at a community project Bright Room Community Acupuncture in Stoke Newington.
